Information We Collect
When you use Capital Card Square, we may collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: Your name, email address, and anything else you include when you email us.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent on the site, browser type, device information, and referring URLs.
- Cookies: Small data files stored on your device to improve your browsing experience and remember your preferences.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and improve our credit card comparison services
- Respond to messages you send us
- Analyze site usage to improve content and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
Categories of Personal Information We Collect and Share
Over the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by California law:
- Identifiers: name and email address (only if you email us).
- Internet or network activity: pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, and interactions with our content.
- Device and technical information: browser type, device type, and general (non-precise) location inferred from IP address.
- Inferences: general interests inferred from the pages you view, used to improve our content.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or precise geolocation, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. We may disclose the internet-activity and device categories above to our analytics and advertising partners, as described below. We do not sell your personal information for money.
Advertising and Analytics Partners
Capital Card Square is an advertising-supported service. To operate the site and understand how it is used, we work with the following partners, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- FinanceBuzz — our advertising partner. When you click certain links, you are routed to FinanceBuzz's category pages (via the tracking domain yrxtrk.com), which may set cookies to attribute your click. See our Advertiser Disclosure.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — helps us understand aggregate site usage. Depending on configuration, Google Analytics advertising features (such as demographics and interest reporting) may be enabled. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we turn off Google Analytics advertising features for your visit.
- Hosting and email providers — our site host (Vercel) processes standard technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the site, and our email provider delivers the messages you send us.
When you click an offer and are redirected to a third-party website, that site's own privacy policy governs your information there. We encourage you to review it.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies, which generally fall into these categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to function.
- Analytics/performance cookies: help us measure and improve how the site is used (for example, Google Analytics).
- Advertising/attribution cookies: set by our advertising partner to attribute clicks and conversions.
You can control cookies through your browser preferences; disabling some may limit certain features. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out of "sale"/"sharing" where required by law. We don't respond to browser "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals, because no common standard for them exists; GPC is the opt-out signal we honor.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Opt out of tracking by adjusting your browser settings
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA) — Do Not Sell or Share
If you're a California resident, you can know what personal information we collect, request deletion or correction, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't sell your information for money, but our analytics and advertising partners may qualify as "sharing" under California law.
To opt out, email support@capitalcardsquare.com with "Do Not Sell or Share" in the subject line, or enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser — we honor GPC signals. You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Your European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Our legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the site and in answering messages you send us. To exercise these rights, contact support@capitalcardsquare.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Capital Card Square is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact support@capitalcardsquare.com and we will delete it.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to respond to your inquiry or meet legal obligations. Analytics data is generally retained in aggregated or de-identified form. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
